Pet-Friendly Smokies

Bringing your best friend to the Smokies.

All of our cabins are pet-friendly because pets are part of the family.

Bringing Your Best Friend to the Smokies

We are dog people.

We're dog people, and to us, pets are part of the family. We vacation at our cabins ourselves, and some of our favorite mountain memories include bringing our own four-legged family members along for the adventure.

That's why all of our cabins are pet-friendly. We want our guests to have the same opportunity to experience the Smokies without leaving an important member of the family behind.

What to Know About the Cabins

True mountain terrain, not fenced suburban yards.

Our cabins are located in true mountain terrain, so while there are grassy areas for potty breaks, they do not have traditional fenced yards, and some driveways and surrounding areas are steep.

Because many mountain roads are narrow and do not have sidewalks, we do not recommend relying on the surrounding roads for longer dog walks. Fortunately, there are several great places nearby to stretch those legs!

Worth the Climb

Our favorite cabin when traveling with our own dogs because it sits on a quiet, relatively flat dead-end road that works well for short walks.

Heaven's Gate 1

Has some grassy space between the cabins, although the shared driveway is steep.

Heaven's Gate 2

Has some grassy space between the cabins, although the shared driveway is steep.

Log Heaven

Has a long driveway and small grassy areas suitable for potty breaks.

Enlightened Stay

Has a long driveway and small grassy areas suitable for potty breaks.

Our Favorite Dog Walk

The Gatlinburg Trail.

About 15 minutes from our cabins, the Gatlinburg Trail is our personal favorite place to take our dogs for a proper walk. The relatively flat trail follows the river and is approximately four miles round-trip.

It is one of only two trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park where dogs are permitted, making it a particularly special option for visitors traveling with pets.

More Places to Explore Together

Downtown walks and pet-friendly experiences.

One of the coolest dog-friendly experiences in town is Gatlinburg SkyPark. Dogs are welcome free of charge and can ride the yellow SkyLift to the top with their owners. They can also explore the SkyPark and its pet-friendly trails, making this much more than an ordinary dog walk! Dogs must remain leashed.

Downtown Gatlinburg itself is also fun to explore on foot with a dog. The Village Shops is a charming place to wander, although individual shops may have their own pet policies.

Eat, Drink & Explore With Your Pup

Pet-friendly stops mentioned in our guide.

Sugarlands Distilling Company

Dog-friendly throughout most of the distillery, except the stillhouse; dogs must remain leashed.

Ole Smoky Distillery "The Holler"

Dogs are permitted inside Ole Smoky's Gatlinburg locations, making this an especially easy stop while exploring downtown.

The Rampant Lion

A relaxed Celtic-style pub and a nice option away from the busiest downtown crowds.

Howard's Restaurant

A particularly good restaurant recommendation because its covered creekside patio welcomes dogs and even offers a dog menu.

Tom & Earl's Back Alley Grill

A popular downtown option where guests can relax with their dogs on the deck.

Timbers Log Cabin Restaurant

A casual option with dog-friendly outdoor tables.

Pet-Friendly Policy Disclaimer

Pet-friendly policies can change, particularly for restaurants and seasonal patios. We recommend checking directly with each business before visiting with your pup.
